Celebrating our 10-Year Anniversary

In January of 2011, I traveled with the Chicago Freedom School on a tour from Atlanta to Mississippi commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1961 Freedom Rides. Led by Civil Rights Veteran Dr. Bernard Lafayette, the group had a chance to meet movement elders, visit sacred sites and make critical connections to current work. It was on this trip the idea of Freedom Lifted was born, a company dedicated to providing affordable group travel experiences that elevate social movements for racial, gender, and economic justice.

I incorporated Freedom Lifted in April of that same year which means we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this month! 

In 2021 we honor the 60th anniversary of the Freedom Rides and 10 years of incredible work at Freedom Lifted!
